#23 Olivet Nazarene 3, Judson 0 - Box l Season Statistics

Elgin, Ill. - Hanging with #23 Olivet Nazarene University (9-7/4-0), Judson University (1-10/0-3) fell to the Tigers, 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 19-25), in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. There were nine ties in the contest with five lead changes amongst the two teams.

For the fifth match in a row, Danielle Dull (Waupun, Wisc.) had double digits in kills as she led Judson with 10. She also led the team with seven digs along with Tracey Enzenbacher (St. Charles, IL). Debra Leganski (Elgin, IL) added eight kills while Kiley Helgerson (Inverness, IL) collected 18 assists. ONU's Stephanie Smith led all players with 13 kills.

Judson improved each game and hung with the nationally ranked Tigers but could not pull off the upset. Olivet Nazarene took a 5-1 lead in game one only to see Judson fight back to tie the game at seven on a Leganski kill. On the next serve, Judson took an 8-7 lead on an Olivet Nazarene attack error. The Tigers then responded with a 7-0 run to make it 14-8. From that point on, Judson could not catch up with the Tigers as ONU went on to win, 25-14.

Once again, in game two, Olivet Nazarene raced out to a lead, 6-3, only to see Judson fight back. Down 10-6, Judson scored three straight points on a kill by Leganski and two ONU ball handling errors to come within one, 10-9. Olivet Nazarene then extended their lead to 21-12 but Judson came within seven, twice, (23-16, 24-17) but the Tigers were too far ahead and won, 25-17.

Game three was the most exciting game of the night as there were four ties within the first four points of the game. The game was tied at one, two, three, and four. ONU scored the next three points for a 7-4 advantage. Just as the Tigers were going to make their move, Judson scored five of the next seven points to tie the game at nine. In that run, Eleanor Walter (Albuquerque, NM) had two service aces in a row to tie the game at nine. ONU then responded with seven straight points for a 16-9 lead. Judson was within five, three times, and could not get any closer in the 25-19 loss.

Judson will travel to Indiana this weekend to face Grace College on Friday, September 19th, at 7:00 p.m. and St. Francis (IN) on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
