Aurora, IL - Head coach Rich Weinhandl was not disappointed in the first meet in 13 years for Judson University as the Eagles ran at Aurora University's Spartan Classic. The men and the women finished seventh in the meet and freshman Rachel Dean (Lindenhurst, IL) won the women's 6K race with a time of 23:05.
 

"I am extremely satisfied with our performance with everybody today," head coach Rich Weinhandl. "Everybody gave their best in conditions that weren't the best. I look forward to the remaining meets on our schedule because this is going to be an exciting team to watch."

Dean led the women with the first place finish as Judson was seventh of 11 teams with 194 points. Sandra Hubbard (Hickory Hills, IL) was next to cross the line as the 39th overall runner with a time of 26:12. Finishing in 53rd was Abbie Dupont (Springfield, IL) with a time of 26:50 followed by Lisa Reitz (Oak Lawn, IL) in 85th (28:40), Sharon Hubbard (Hickory Hills, IL) in 113th (30:36), and Dianna Clark (Fairbury, IL) in 137th (32:27).

The men's team was led by Matt DeBall (DeKalb, IL) as he was 26th overall but scored as the 25th runner (27:56) in the 8K run. Judson finished seventh of 14 teams with 206 points. Finishing 38th was Nick Sustersic (Palos Hills, IL) with at time of 28:34 and he was followed by Dakota West (Antioch, IL) in 46th place (28:53). Robert Altenburger (West Salem, OH) came in 62nd (29:36) with Ethan Hahn (Lake Villa, IL) 72nd (30:08), Thomas Jarrett (St. Louis, MO) 88th (31:14), and Nate Faulkner (Davis, IL) 91st (31:20).

Judson will next compete at the Cedarville University Invitational in Cedarville, Ohio, on Saturday, September 20th at 10:00 a.m.
