Mt. Vernon, OH - An offensive barrage of shots and goals for Spring Arbor University (4-3) took over the match as they shut out Judson University (1-3), 2-0, in the first day of the Mt. Vernon Nazarene University Tournament. Spring Arbor took 25 shots in the match to Judson's six and had 11 on goal.
 

Spring Arbor wasted no time in scoring as Heidi Sharp netted a goal just three minutes into the match on a cross from Jamie Siedzik. They did not score again until the 66th minute when Taylor George made it 2-0 with an assist from Megan Cogan.

Taking 17 shots in the first period, Spring Arbor dominated Judson on the offense. Judson's Christina Thorton (Algonquin, IL) took four of Judson's six shots and took three in the first half. Megan Hamm (Huntley, IL) had one shot in the first half while Rebecca O'Donnell (Wheeling, IL) took the other shot in the second half.

Judson's only shot on goal came in the 23rd minute when Thornton had a look but did not convert.

Spring Arbor finished with seven corner kicks to Judson's two and had 14 fouls to Judson's three.

Judson will now face Mt. Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday, September 13th, at 3:00 p.m.
