Illinois Tech 3, Judson 0 - Box

Chicago, IL - A strong attacking offense from Illinois Tech (6-6/3-0) gave the Scarlet Hawks a 3-0 (12-25, 14-25, 15-25) win over visiting Judson University (0-6/0-2). Illinois Tech hit .307 overall and hit .458 in the first game.

Judson was led by sophomore Danielle Dull's (Waupan, Wisc.) six kills while Debra Leganski (Elgin, IL) recorded 12 digs.

In game one, Judson took a 2-0 lead on serves by Rachel Whitacre (Manldin, S.C.). Illinois Tech then tied the game at two and three before going on a 13-2 run to make it 16-5. From that point, Judson could not overcome the Scarlet Hawks best offensive game as Judson fell, 25-12.

Once again the game was tied at the beginning five different times with the last tie at five. Dull's kill on an assist from Kiley Helgerson (Inverness, IL) tied the game at five. Illinois Tech responded with a 10-1 run for a 15-6 lead and then took a 25-14 win.

Illinois Tech took a 5-2 lead to begin game three but Judson battled back to come within one, 6-5. A service ace from Tracey Enzenbacher (St. Charles, IL) brought Judson to within one, 5-4, but a Judson ball handling error made it 6-4. Illinois Tech followed with an attack error as Judson was within one, again, 6-5, but had a 6-1 run for a 12-6 lead. That lead was too much to catch up with as Illinois Tech kept up their offensive attack in the 25-15 win.

Judson will next play in the North Park University Tournament on Friday, September 12th, as they will face Purdue-North Central (5 p.m.) and Grinnell College (7 p.m.). They will then take on Illinois College (12 p.m.) and North Park University (4 p.m.) on Saturday.
