
This is the third team in a week that Judson has played that has either been nationally ranked or receiving votes. Last week, Judson fell to #18 McKendree, 1-0, but then defeated Grand View, 3-1, who was receiving votes. Indiana Wesleyan is #19 in the first NAIA poll of the season.
For the second week in a row, Bajic hit the game winning goal for Judson. Last week, he put Judson up, 2-1, over Grand View College. He now has two goals on the season as both were game winning. Assisting Bajic on the goal was Gustavo Oliveira and Aduato Oliveira. In the 30th minute, Bajic hit the goal on an assist from the Oliveira's and the Judson packed in their defense the final 60 minutes for the 1-0 win.
Judson only took four shots with all four on goal and Indiana Wesleyan had 13 with seven on goal. Sophomore Alex Tyton received his first win at Judson with seven saves and records his first shutout.
The match was also a physical one as there were two red cards and four yellow cards. Judson and Indiana Wesleyan both had a record and Judson played one man down for 75 minutes of the match. There were 25 fouls with Indiana Wesleyan providing 16.
With 433 wins, Steve Burke now only needs five wins to become the all-time career wins leader for the NAIA in men's soccer.
Judson will host Huntington University (IN) next Friday, September 12th, in the Judson Tournament at 2:00 p.m.
