Elgin, Ill. - In one of the toughest NAIA women's soccer conferences in the nation, the Judson University women's soccer team has been chosen to finish in fourth place by the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) coaches. Judson won the CCAC Tournament title last season.
#23 Trinity Christian College (80) was chosen as the favorite in the CCAC by 12 points over 2007 regular season champion #9 St. Xavier (68). Trinity Christian also received eight first place votes to St. Xavier's two. Claiming third place, by seven points over Judson, is Trinity International University (62). Judson was then fourth with 55 points and Robert Morris fifth at 51 points.
The fourth through sixth place teams were just separated by eight points. Olivet Nazarene was sixth with 47 points followed by Illinois Tech (35), St. Francis (23), Cardinal Stritch (19), and Calumet (10).
Both Trinity Christian and St. Xavier are already ranked in the preseason NAIA poll as Trinity Christian is ranked 23rd in the nation while St. Xavier is #9. Trinity International is receiving votes in the national poll.
Judson starts the 2008 season on Friday, August 29th, in Iowa against Grand View and #10 Graceland University on Saturday, August 30th.
