Elgin, Ill.- In their first season of competition for cross country, Judson University has been voted to finish seventh in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference for both men and women's cross country. Judson was voted ahead of two other CCAC schools.
Olivet Nazarene was picked to win the men's title while St. Xavier claimed the women's poll.
On the men's side, Olivet Nazarene (64) finished 17 points ahead of Illinois Tech (47). Taking third was St. Xavier followed by Trinity Christian and Robert Morris to round out the top five.
St. Francis (IL) was sixth with Judson in seventh and Calumet eighth and Cardinal Stritch ninth.
For the women, St. Xavier (62) edged out Olivet Nazarene (57) by five votes and St. Xavier also had six first place votes. Illinois Tech was third with St. Francis (IL) fourth and Trinity Christian fifth.
Taking sixth place was Robert Morris followed by Judson and then Calumet College in eighth and Cardinal Stritch in ninth.
Judson will start their season on September 12th when they run at Aurora University in the Spartan Classic. This will be the first competition for Judson cross country in over 13 years.
