Elgin, Ill. - A brand new season will begin for cross country after a 12-year absence on Friday, September 12th, when Judson University will run in their first cross country meet of the 2008 season. Judson will run in seven meets in the 2008 season.
Judson will travel to four different states in their seven meets in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Ohio. The season will kick off in September in Aurora, Ill., at the Aurora University Spartan Classic on September 12th at 4:30 p.m. The following weekend, on Saturday, September 20th, Judson will travel to their first out-of-state meet to Ohio and compete in the Cedarville University Invitational at 10:00 a.m. September will be rounded out with a Judson University Homecoming Fun Run for the team that is a non-competitive team event.
October brings four meets that starts at NCAA Division I Loyola University in the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on October 4th at 11:45 a.m. Judson will move to a NCAA Division III meet at Benedictine University on Friday, October 10th, at 3:30 p.m. in Lisle, Ill. The third weekend in October on the 18th features a meet in Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 10:30 a.m. October will finish with a run in Iowa at Graceland University on October 25th.
November is the month for the post-season meets as Judson will run in the CCAC Championship meet on November 8th in Bourbonnais, Ill., and then compete at the NCCAA National Meet on November 15th in Cedarville, Ohio. Judson will also be vying for a chance to run at the NAIA National Meet on November 22nd in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
This is the first season for both men's and women's cross country after a 12-year absence. Head coach Rich Weinhandl has put together two teams that will compete for championships in their first season.
