The women's bowling team entered into their first tournament of the year this past weekend in Lafayette, IN and produced great team finish. They placed 7th out of 13 teams with two top performances. Ritzel Velarde (SO/Skokie, IL) finished 16th and Tara Quinlan (SR/Streamwood, IL) 31st out of 130 female bowlers.

The team had to face one of the toughest lane conditions to date. Judson bowled a 1-to-1, 38 ft. sport shot pattern that challenged the Eagles throughout the tournament. Coach Valiente said, "Overall, they did not do bad. Definitely lots of practice to do, but for being the first tournament of the season and bowling this kind of [lane] condition and how they handled themselves, they did very well. For many of them this was their first collegiate tournament so I'm happy with the results. The women's team started 11th and the second day of competition they brought it back and were the second best team of the day. It was a good learning experience for everyone."
The team will compete next at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout on October 21-22 in Indianapolis, IN
