ELGIN, Ill. - - - The 2017 men's and women's track & field season was the best in program history. The team finished with a national champion, numerous All-American performances, top CCAC All-Conference performances, and two scholar athletes within the national organizations.

 

Anali Cisneros (SO/Elgin, IL) finished as Judson's first individual or team NAIA National Champion in school history, five Eagles earned All-American status, six earned CCAC All-Conference honors, and Caleb Fletcher (SR/Lake Fenton, MI) along with Amanda Zylstra earned the team's two scholar athlete awards.

 

With the CCAC adding the inaugural Indoor Conference Championships, Judson used the extra opportunity to rack up numerous CCAC All-Conference performances and Champions for both the Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Cisneros won both Indoor and Outdoor in the Race Walk events, and Dan Becker (JR/Sheboygan, WI) captured his third consecutive CCAC title in the pole vault.

Indoor CCAC All-Conference: 
Dan Becker; Men's Pole Vault (CCAC Indoor Champion - 4.27m)
Anali Cisneros; 3,000m Race Walk (CCAC Indoor Champion - 14:29.04)
Caleb Fletcher, Jordy Arriaga, Joseph Sipiorski (JR/Algonquin, IL), Dietrich Heiss (SR/Beloit, WI); 4x800m Relay (2nd place finish - 8:09.66) 

Outdoor CCAC All-Conference:
Anali Cisneros; 5,000m Race Walk (CCAC Outdoor Champion - 24:29.24)
Dan Becker; Men's Pole Vault (CCAC Outdoor Champion - 4.10m)

 

At the National levels, Judson qualified nine for the NCCAA National Championships and five for the NAIA National Championships total for both theIndoor and Outdoor season.Topping the list again was Anali Cisneros, Jennifer Donnell (SR/Schaumburg, IL), and Dan Becker. The women had a fantastic season qualifying and competing in the NCCAA Outdoor and both NAIA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships. Becker qualified for both Outdoor Championships at the NCCAA and NAIA levels. 

NAIA Indoor National Championships:
Anali Cisneros; 3,000m Race Walk (2nd Place, NAIA All-American - 14:07.55)

NCCAA Outdoor National Championships:
Jennifer Donnell; Shot Put (NCCAA National Champion, NCCAA All-American - 13.40m)
Jennifer Donnell; Discus (3rd Place, NCCAA All-American - 38.33m)
Dan Becker; Pole Vault (3rd Place, NCCAA All-American - 4.40m)

NAIA Outdoor National Championships:
Anali Cisneros; 5,000m Race Walk (NAIA National Champion, NAIA All-American - 24:09.51)
Dan Becker; Pole Vault (8th Place, NAIA All-American - 4.75m)

 

Wrapping up the national honors include Caleb Fletcher and Amanda Zylstra. The pair earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, NCCAA Scholar-Athlete honors, and CCAC All-Academic honors. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
