JOLIET, Ill. - - - The 2017 CCAC Outdoor Championships were held this weekend at Memorial Stadium in Joliet, Illinois. The Lady Eagles scored 33 points to finish 7th out of 10 teams. Anali Cisneros (FR/Elgin, IL) repeated as race walk champion covering the 5,000m distance in 24:29.24. Cisneros' time is a new JU school record and it meets the NAIA "A" standard (Second Eagle to qualify, Dan Becker in Pole Vault).

 

Chloe Burkhart (FR/Elgin, IL) hit NCCAA qualifying marks in two events Saturday as she placed 6th in the 1500m run with a season best time of 4:57.73 and 8th in the 5,000m run with in a personal best 18:55.46. Jennifer Donnell (JR/Schaumburg, IL) placed 4th in the shot put with a toss of 12.47m. Donnell also threw 40.19m to finish 6th in the discus. Amanda Zylstra (SR/Mishawaka, IN) placed 4th in the 3,000m steeple chase with a time of 12:23.17. Kristi McClure (SR/Wilmington, DE) also met the NCCAA qualifying standard in her first 10,000m race running 42:15.26.

 

The Lady Eagles also added important points in the relay events. The 4 x 100m relay of Krysta Navarro (JR/Oswego, IL), Taylor LoCoco (SR/Cary, IL), Savannah Henn (JR/Huntley, IL) and Elizabeth Baker finished 6th with a time of 54.97. The 4x400m relay of Savannah Henn, Susanna Finley (JR/Rockford, IL), Taylor LoCoco and Guadalupe Machuca (SO/Carpentersville, IL) ran 4:59.42 to finish 8th. The 4 x 800m relay of Guadalupe Machuca, Chloe Burkhart, Susanna Finley, and Lindsey Rodig (SO/Carpentersville, IL) ran 10:51.62 to finish 7th.

 

The Lady Eagles compete next at the NCCAA Outdoor Championships at Oklahoma Baptist University, May 11-13. Jennifer Donnell will compete in the shot put and discus and Chloe Burkhart will be compete in the 5,000m run.
