LISLE, Ill. - - - The Eagles were one of twenty eight schools who competed in the Benedictine Relays last weekend in Lisle, Illinois. The Judson men's track & field team performed well overall and enjoyed several standout performances that included a program record and three NCCAA Outdoor Championship qualifiers.
Andrew Allen (SO/Milford, IL) set a new record in the Hammer with a throw of 38.43m. This is the fourth record set by the men during this outdoor campaign. Jordy Arriaga ran a strong 800m placing 8th in 1:56.16. Arriaga was just .08 off the JU 800m record and his time qualifies him for the NCCAA Outdoor Championships. The 4 x 800 relay of Jordy Arriaga, Joseph Sipiorski, Caleb Fletcher (JR/Lake Fenton, MI), and Jhoan Lino (JR/Streamwood, IL) continued the trend of strong middle distance performances with a 6th place finish in 8:02.81. "Dan Becker is on the verge of a big vault and Jon Sanders' javelin performance was impressive for a first year competitor. We are gaining momentum as we move toward the CCAC championships in three weeks."
The Eagles next compete this weekend at the UW-LaCrosse Phil Esten Challenge (Decathlon) and the Wheaton Don Church Twilight on Saturday, April 22nd with a start of 11:00am.
