JOLIET, Ill. - - - The Eagles entered into one of their toughest series of the season as they traveled to Joliet, Illinois to face the top team in the CCAC South Division. The Fighting Saints from St. Francis (IL) entered into the twin-bill with a ten game win streak and a three game lead in the south division. Much like Judson, the Eagles also hold a three game lead over the North Division but both teams had to battled it out for the top spot and came away with a split series. A dominate pitching performance led the Eagles to a 2-1 win in game one, but the USF bats came alive in game two for a 7-0 win to even both teams at a 12-2 record in CCAC action.

Ty Parquette (SR/Crystal Lake, IL) got his ninth start on the season and tallied his seventh win overall. Still perfect on the season, Parquette was lights out on the mound in game one as he went a complete seven innings allowing one hit and one run. He would also tally five strike-outs to increase a team leading total to 54 K's on the season. The only runs in game one were scored in the third inning as Andrew Siegler (JR/Batavia, IL ) led off with a double to eventually score and David Matthews (JR/Chicago, IL) scored the winning RBI with a single. A costly error from St. Francis (IL) scored Siegler as Adam Rojas (JR/St. Charles, IL) advanced him on the sacrifice bunt throwing error, and Matthews scored Tanner Kehrer (JR/Belvidere, IL) after Kehrer reached on a walk. Free bases cost USF in the end as Parquette and the Eagles defensive held on to the 2-1 lead through the remaining four innings.

The nine inning contest for game two started with an early 1-0 lead from the Fighting Saints after a lead-off home run. USF would open the early lead and keep the Judson bats quiet while breaking the game open in the sixth inning tallying six runs for the 7-0 lead. The Eagles were out hit 12-6 and left eight runners on base through a great pitching performance from USF's Riordan. Riordan went a complete game shut-out allowing the six hits and striking out three.

Moving forward, the two teams will be left to determine their own fate as each team leaves the double-header tied at 12-2 in conference action. Judson is set to finish out the season against Saint Ambrose, Calumet-College, Trinity International, Purdue University Northwest, and Robert Morris before the CCAC tournament in May. The Saint Ambrose series will take place at Hoffer Field Friday and Saturday with start times of 4:00pm and 1:00pm respectively.
