CHICAGO, Ill. - - -  The Lady Eagles track & field team opened their outdoor season Saturday under sunny skies at the University of Chicago Ted Haydon Invitational. A number of strong performances were recorded this weekend with three time NAIA national qualifier Jennifer Donnell (JR/Schaumburg, IL) as the Lady Eagles' lone winner Saturday. Donnell finished throwing 12.38m to best the field in the shot put and recorded a runner up finish in the discus with a best throw of 38.60m.

 

On the track, Kristi McClure (SR/Wilmington, DE) ran 20:02.20 to finish 4th in the 5000m run and Chloe Burkhart (FR/Elgin, IL) finished 6th in the 3000m with a time of 11:22.07. Behind both McClure and Burkhart was Amanda Zylstra (SR/Mishawaka, IN) in the 5000m placing 5th with a time of 20:06.82 and Susanna Finley (JR/Rockford, IL) in behind Burkhart in the 3000m with an 8th place finish and time of 11:39.86. Joel Popenfoose noted, "It was good to get back to competition and knock some rust off. This was a good test of progress since the end of Indoor season and we look to take big steps forward over the next few weekends."

 

Judson will next travel to Wheaton, Illinois to take part in the Wheaton Invitational next weekend, April 8th with a start time set for 11:00am.
