BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - - - The Eagles could not have asked for a better twin bill contest for their CCAC opening series as they took on rival Olivet Nazarene University in a grudge match from 2016. The last time the two teams met was during the post-season as ONU took the conference regular season championship in a single game playoff before dropping a 5-2 decision in the conference tournament to the Eagles. With a bit of momentum heading into the double-header with a split against No.16 ranked Clarke University, Judson was ready to kick off conference and did so with two statement wins over the Tigers.

Combining for 20 runs in two games, Judson opened game one with a four run first inning and capped off game two with a six run seventh inning to seal the sweep with 8-5 and 12-1 wins over ONU. The Eagles open CCAC conference action 2-0 against the rival Tigers and improve to 16-10 overall.

The bats were alive for Judson as the offense totaled 27 hits through 14 innings and combined for 20 runs. Game one was highlighted by the bat's of Alex Galik (SR/Downers Grove, IL ), David Matthews (JR/Chicago, IL), Josh Krueger (SO/Romeoville, IL), and Jared Ludwig (SO/Algonquin, IL). Galik would go 2-for-3 in the lead-off spot scoring twice as Matthews went 2-for-2 with a walk that included a triple and a single with a total of three RBI's. Krueger followed going 2-for-4 scoring twice and Ludwig ended with a one pitch, pinch-hit solo home run that took the air out of a building Tiger momentum. The second game was again led by the bat's of Galik and Krueger with additional help from the bottom of the order as Sam Visconti (JR/Wilmette, IL) and Andrew Siegler (JR/Batavia, IL ) raked five hits, two RBI's, and four runs scored between the pair. Overall, Galik ended the day 4-for-8 with two RBI and four runs scored, Krueger ended 3-for-6 with three RBI and an additional four runs scored, while Visconti finished game two 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI's, and Siegler went 2-for-3 with two runs scored as well. The offense dominated the plate hitting .402 as a team with an additional 10 extra base hits as J. Ludwig, Galik, Krueger, and Visconti all hit a home run adding to their great performances, Matthews with his triple in game one, and Kehrer, Krueger, Visconti, and Siegler all adding doubles.

On the mound, Judson got two great performances from Ty Parquette (SR/Crystal Lake, IL) and Thomas Goodyear (SR/Romeoville, IL). Parquette went six & two-third innings allowing 13 hits but only giving up five runs with seven strike-outs. In his sixth start of the season, Parquette would stay perfect improving to 4-0 overall and improve his strike-out lead on the team totaling 36 through 31 & two-thirds innings. Goodyear got his fourth start of the season and improved to 3-1 with his performance that held ONU to four hits and one unearned run through his six innings of work. Brennan Polcyn (JR/Channahon, IL) picked up his third save ending game one and Dan Gerke (JR/Burlington, IL) would allow one hit on one strike-out in his inning of work in game two.

Judson gets off to a good start in the opening CCAC series and will take on Trinity Christian College in the Eagles' CCAC home opener next Wednesday, March 29th with first pitch set for 4:00pm(CT).
