ELGIN, Ill. - - - The Eagles returned to action and the cold Midwest weather after a two week Spring break trip and week of cancelations to face Calumet College St. Joseph in an added non-conference contest Saturday afternoon. The Judson offensive kept a hot bat and the pitching shut down the Crimson Wave en route to a 5-1 win. The Eagles improve to 13-9 overall and tally a two game win streak heading into the second month of the season.

Cullen Mayhew (JR/Gatesville, TX) led the Eagles offensively and was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. The Texas native went 4-for-4 from the plate with a walk, two singles, a double, and to top it off a deep shot to left-field for a solo homerun. Mayhew facilitated most of the offense Saturday afternoon for Judson also totaling two runs, two RBI's, and a stolen base. Mayhew leads the team with five home runs on the season and is second behind Josh Krueger (SO/Romeoville, IL) with a .351 batting average. Other notables included David Matthews (JR/Chicago, IL) going 3-for-5, Alex Galik (SR/Downers Grove, IL ) going 2-for-3 with a run scored, Josh Krueger going 1-for-4 with a run scored, and Tanner Kehrer (JR/Belvidere, IL) going 1-for-4 totaling two RBI's with a base clearing double to left field in the third inning.

On the mound Ty Parquette (SR/Crystal Lake, IL) got his fifth start of the season and picked up the win to improve to 3-0 overall. Parquette would finish with three solid innings striking out six Calumet batters allowing just one hit and one walk. Judson would staff the rest of the game using Thomas Goodyear (SR/Romeoville, IL), Josh Rahn (JR/Schaumburg, IL), Miguel Villafane (JR/Elgin, IL), and Brennan Polcyn (JR/Channahon, IL) for the remaining six innings. The Judson pitchers would combine to allow only four hits and one unearned run over the remaining innings to secure the 5-1 win for the Eagles.

Judson will next face the No.11 ranked team in the nation as they host Clarke University, weather permitting, Tuesday, March 22nd with a start time of  4:00pm.
