LAKE MYRTLE PARK, Flor. - - - The Eagles wrapped up a three day series between Point Park University and Mt. Vernon Nazarene Tuesday afternoon in a 19-10 shootout and a 7-2 pitching gem. Judson and PPU scored a combined 29 runs in the Eagles' loss and Brennan Polcyn (JR/Channahon, IL) went a complete seven innings to help the team split day three of the trip and to sweep MVNU.


The Eagles have not had a problem scoring runs through the last three days of games as the offense put up 10 runs against Point Park Tuesday afternoon. It quickly became a shoot-out as PPU took an early 5-0 lead and Judson followed with a six run, third inning. The game would end with five lead changes and six innings with three or more runs scored. The Eagles came out on the losing end of the 10-19 loss but had four players total two RBI's each and eight players with one or more hits. 


Game two switched focus towards the pitching mound as Brennan Polcyn got his second start of the season against Mt. Vernon. Polcyn went the full seven innings while scattering nine Mt. Vernon hits and allowing just two earned runs. The right-hander also did not give up a walk and struck out seven MVNU batters. Polcyn improves to 2-1 on the season and holds a 4.26 ERA while holding opponents to a .321 batting average.


Highlights on the offensive end included Josh Krueger (SO/Romeoville, IL) keeping the hot bat going 5-for-8 through two games that included three doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored. Tanner Kehrer (JR/Belvidere, IL) found this groove going 3-for-6 with a double, three runs scored, and one RBI while Conor Grove (JR/Frankfort, IL) and Cullen Mayhew (JR/Gatesville, TX) continued the middle of the order threat going 3-for-7 and 2-for-7 respectively and totaling three runs each and one RBI each. Overall the Eagles tallied 24 hits in the two games while scoring 17 runs. 


Judson heads into day four of the Spring Break tour with a split against Point Park and the sweep in the series against Mt. Vernon Nazarene. The Eagles will head into the second half of the week with single games against Davenport University, Cleary University, Warner University, and double header versus Missouri Valley College.
