BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - - - The Judson women's indoor track and field team competed in the inaugural CCAC Indoor Championships last weekend.    Facing an excellent field of top ranked NAIA schools, the lady Eagles compiled 19 points and finished 7th overall.  Anali Cisneros (FR/Elgin, IL) continued her outstanding freshman season winning the women's 3k race walk and setting a new JU record in the process.  Cisneros' winning time of 14:29.04 was a season best and is the 2nd best time on the NAIA indoor performance list heading into indoor nationals. 


Judson's other NAIA indoor qualifier, Jennifer Donnell (JR/Schaumburg, IL), placed 5th in the shot put with a mark of 12.33m.  Other Lady Eagles scoring points included the 4 x 800m relay of Chloe Burkhart (FR/Elgin, IL), Guadalupe Machuca (SO/Carpentersville, IL), Susanna Finley (JR/Rockford, IL), and Kristi McClure (SR/Wilmington, DE) running 10:33.74good for 6th place, Chloe Burkhart finishing 8th in the 3,000m run in 11:05.10, and the 4 x 400m relay of Christyanne Wheeler, Savannah Henn (JR/Huntley, IL), Taylor LoCocco and Guadalupe Machuca who finished 8th with a time of 4:50.44. Cisneros and Donnell will travel to Johnson City, Tennessee to compete in the NAIA Indoor Championships March 24-25.  Coach Popenfoose noted, "Our women's team is making good progress and we hope to build on this during outdoor season where we add a few events where we can pile up some points.  Now our attention turns to preparing Anali and Jenn for indoor nationals."


The Eagles open their 2017 outdoor campaign at the Ted Haydon Invitational on April 1.
