BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - - - The Judson men competed in the NAIA vs NCAA challenge Saturday afternoon at Olivet Nazarene University.  A number of Judson athletes put down strong performances at this premier meet.  Dan Becker (SO/Sheboygan, WI) tied for 3rd in the pole vault and set a new Judson record in the process clearing 4.30 meters.  Becker had set the previous record at the NCCAA Indoor championships last February.  Judson men have now set 4 school records in the first three meets of the indoor season. Coach Popenfoose remarked, "Becker is making great progress and we hope he can reach the indoor qualifying mark in the next few weeks."

Robert Bruns (JR/St. Joseph, MO) had a strong run in the 5,000 meters finishing 3rd and Michael Ford (FR/Rockford, IL) continued his notable freshman campaign with a 7th place finish in the shot put, throwing 13.78 meters.  The 4 x 800 meter relay, that included Jordy Arriega (SR/Prospect Heights, IL), Jhoan Lino (JR/Streamwood, IL), Joseph Sipiorski (SO/Algonquin, IL), and Caleb Fletcher (JR/Lake Fenton, MI), recorded a 4th place finish with a time of 8:30.21. Coach Popenfoose added, "We faced top competition this weekend against numerous ranked teams. It was a great experience for our younger guys and I know it will make a difference for them down the line at the CCAC Indoor championship."

The Eagles resume competition next Saturday at the Illinois Wesleyan Titan Open.
