ELGIN, Ill. - - - Jayla Barrett (JR/Homewood, IL) needed exactly 23 points to reach a career milestone and got just that Saturday afternoon to become the 18th player in women's basketball history to reach a career 1,000 points.

The accomplishment came on the road as the Eagles faced Governors State University and Barrett led the team to a 66-55 win and a team high 23 points. Overall, Barrett has been a great asset for Judson already accumulating 311 points this season and averaging 15.2 points per game. Barrett holds three top 50 rankings in the NAIA that include total scoring, free-throw percentage, and field goal percentage.

Barrett is the 18th player to join the 1,000 points club and the second current player to reach the milestone. Kelly Ludwig reached the club last season and Barrett was bound to join soon after. In just her junior year, Barrett will continue to climb the career points list with a great chance to break the top five all-time with a senior year still to play.
