GRANDVILLE, Mich. - - - The men's bowling team made history this past weekend as they claimed the program's first tournament championship. Judson competed at the West Michigan Intercollegiate Tournament in Grandville, Mich., and produced the first place finish in just the team's third tournament of the inaugural season.

On top of the team's accomplishment, the Eagles produced two top five finishes and two top 15 finishes for individual awards. Austin Bull (FR/Rockford, IL) placed third overall with a season high of a 226 average and Tyler Zink (FR/Miamisburg, OH) placed fifth overall with a 220 average. Other notables included a sixth place finish from Lowell Lynde IV (FR/Elgin, IL) and a 12th place finish from Derek Poole (FR/Rockford, IL). As a team the Eagles averaged 207 for the entire tournament. Zink said, " I am really excited about this past tournament. This was my first individual award (including high school) and I'm glad we closed the day with the team win."

Men's assistant coach Fidel Marchena added, "History was made with the men's finish. In all my years of collegiate bowling experience I have never seen a first year team win a title. We will take this performance and use it as motivation for the rest of the season."

The men will be back at the lanes for the Titan Invite in Menasha, Wis., on November 5th through the 6th.
