ELGIN, Ill. - - - Judson University signs Christopher Veltkamp to the roster for 2017. Veltkamp has had an impressive high school career so far with his senior season only a few months away. He recorded a 25-3 singles record last season as he finished the IHSA State Finals in the Top 32 of singles players following a Top 48 finish in singles during his sophomore year. Veltkamp trains and plays with an elite group of high level players with the Eola Tennis Academy led by famed former player and coach, Gus Fernandes.

Veltkamp will not only bring his high academic and tennis achievements to Judson, he also brings a successful career in Taekwondo. He is a third degree black-belt in Taekwondo and has used his abilities to mentor young students in the sport. He attributes many of his successes in tennis to the hard work ethic he has developed through Taekwondo and is looking forward to contributing to the team in the fall. Veltkamp will be entering the Pre-Med program at Judson as he is planning to attend medical school after his undergraduate work.
