ELGIN, Ill. - - - The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference released the 2016 Women's Volleyball awards with Judson taking home nine different honors. The Eagles were honored with one All-Conference First Team selection, two All-Conference Second Team selections, five All-Academic selections, and the CCAC Champions of Character Team award.


Grace Smith (SR/Richland, WA) was the top Eagle this season taking home the All-Conference First Team selection. Smith dominated the conference with stellar offensive and defensive play while also breaking numerous Judson records. Smith broke the single season record of total solo blocks with a total of 61 and finished the season seventh for hitting percentage at .310. More impressive, Smith also broke career records in block assists and total blocks. Both records previously held by recent Hall of Fame inductee Julie Anderson. Smith finishes her career first with 381 block assists and first in total blocks with 439. Smith just missed the solo block career record by 18 blocks with a total of 158.


The two All-Conference Second team selections included Natalie Ricca (JR/Crystal Lake, Ill.) and Jennifer Donnell (JR/Schaumburg, IL). Both juniors, the pair are making their own marks in the record books. Ricca finished the season with 1172 assists and Donnell finished the season leading the team with 414 kills. The two stats put Ricca fourth all-time in assists and Donnell fifth all-time in kills.


The CCAC All-Academic Team was honored to have five Eagles selected that included Jennifer Donnell, Brittany Huber (SR/Sycamore, Ill.), Natalie Ricca, Claire Speweik (JR/Elgin, Ill.), and Cara Tyrrell (SR/Algonquin, Ill.). Judson wrapped up the end of the season honors being named the CCAC Champions of Character Team for the 2016 season.
