ELGIN, Ill. - - - The streak continues as the Eagles downed their fourth non-conference team for their third win in a row Thursday afternoon. Judson hosted Ave Maria University (FL) in their second of three non-conference games this week and broke out with early energy to a dominating 45-21 first half lead. The Eagles retained the lead through the remaining 20 minutes for the 67-48 win and Judson's third win in a row.

Judson (4-2 overall), got big performances from Melanie Claudio (SR/Chicago, IL), Kelli Ludwig (SR/Loves Park, IL), and Diamond Courts (SR/Broadview, IL). The three accounted for 41 of the 67 points for the Eagles and each provided momentum in key moments throughout the game. Ave Maria (1-1 overall) slumped in the first half shooting just 30 percent and tallying a 14 point deficit after the first quarter. A deficit that grew to as large as 25 points and could not be overcome as Judson finished shooting 50 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range.

Diamond Courts led the way for the Eagles shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the field and 3-for-3 from the charity stripe. Courts finished the night with 16 points that included three 3-point shots, three assists, and two steals. Coming off the bench, Courts helped give a boost to the starting five scoring 16 of the 24 bench points on the night. Melanie Claudio and Kelli Ludwig helped push the offensive tempo as Claudio finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and Ludwig finished with 13 points shooting 5-for-9 from the field.

Judson controlled the tempo from the first tip-off increasing a large lead into half time. Judson combined a great defensive effort and offensive effort into a complete team win. The Eagles' defense held Ave Maria to shooting 30 percent in both halves and game. JU produced 16 turnovers for a 14 to 11 point conversion ratio. The team combined for five blocks and five steals. The offense lost a bit of steam in the third and fourth quarters but the defense continued to hold the AMU offense at a safe distance.

The Eagles will continue non-conference action as they travel to Huntington, Indiana to face Huntington University on Saturday, Nov. 12th. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm (CT).
