ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - - - The Eagles' cross country teams traveled to Rock Island, Illinois Friday evening as the men and women both ran in the Brissman-Lundeen Cross Country Invitational. Judson ran to top finishes as the men finished second out of 31 teams and the women ran to a 12th place finish out of 26 teams. A tough course proved to challenge the Eagles throughout the Invite, but numerous runner broke through to top finishes.


Jordy Arriaga (SR/Prospect Heights, IL) ran the top time for the Eagles in the men's 8K race with a time of 27:12 that had him in the top 15 with an individual 12th place finish. Robert Bruns (JR/Waynesville. MO) and Nicholas Modlin (SR/Wheeling, IL.) were the next two top finishers in the top 30 that came in 16 and 25th respectively with times of 27:30 and 27:54. The other top five finishers for Judson included Joseph Siporski (SO/Algonquin, IL) and Daryle Worley, III (SR/Warrenville, IL) with times of 28:13 and 28:34 good for 35th and 48th places out of 292 runners.


The women found similar success as Chloe Burkhart (FR/Elgin, IL) led the Eagles for the third straight meet.  Burkhart finished 21st overall and came in with a season best 25:19 in the women's 5K race. Burkhart was followed by Anali Cisneros (FR/Elgin, IL) and Amanda Zylstra (SR/Mishawaka, IN) who finished 55th and 71st overall with times of 26:25 and 26:45 respectively. Kristi McClure (SR/Wilmington, DE) and Lindsey Rodig (FR/Carpentersville, IL) (SO/Carpentersville, IL) (FR/Carpentersville, IL) (SO/Carpentersville, IL) held up the back end of Judson's top five with times of 27:03 and 28:47 finishing in 74th and 115th place of 226 runners.


Both Judson cross country teams will be back in action at the Eagles Invitational in Lisle, Illinois with the meet start time set for 5:00pm.
