SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - - - The women's soccer team looked to continue their early season success as they traveled to Springfield, Illinois to take on the Stars from the University of Illinois Springfield Wednesday afternoon. Both teams came into the contest without a lose and it took all of 97 minutes to decide a winner as UIS pulled off a one goal overtime winner to hand Judson their first loss of the season.

The entire match was in favor of UIS as they totaled 30 shots throughout the match compared to the Eagles who only rattled off two shots. Much credit to the Judson defensive and goalkeeper Mariana Salas (SR/San Jose, Costa Rica) as they forced overtime tied at 0-0 and Salas totaled 14 saves in the 97 minutes.

The offensive side was quiet for Judson as Jesenia Rivera (FR/Belvidere, Ill.) and Jenna Zelm (FR/Sheboygan, Wis.) were the only Eagles to get a shot off. The Eagles never gained advantage totaling zero corner kicks compared to the 10 produced by UIS.

Judson now falls to 3-1 on the season as UIS hands them their first loss. The Eagles will travel to Marion, Indiana next to face the Wildcats from Indiana Wesleyan on September 12th starting at 5:00pm.
