West Palm Beach, Fl. – Finishing third in the nation for NCCAA, Judson University fell to Palm Beach Atlantic, 7-5, in a rematch for the first round game. Judson ends the NCCAA National Tournament with a 2-2 record and the third place finish.

Judson is now 22-21 on the season and has produce their best post-season, ever, with two wins at the national tournament. The 22 wins is just one win shy of tying the school record for wins in a season.

"We had an exciting tournament here in Florida," says head coach Becky Bruns. "The team played hard and we won two games at the national tournament. I am proud of these girls and where they are taking the program."

Judson also produced three players on the all-NCCAA National Tournament team and had two All-Americans named and two NCCAA All-Scholar Athletes announced at the tournament. Freshman Nicole Dimiceli (Itasca, Ill.), junior Tricia Lakotish (Rio Rancho, N.M.), and senior Aimee Ewert (Gilberts, Ill.) were all named to the all-tournament team. Earning all-American status were Dimiceli and Debra Leganski (Elgin, Ill.). Given the scholar-athlete awards were Amy Meier (Newark, Ill.) and Lakotish. It is the second year in a row that Leganski has been named a NCCAA All-American in both softball and volleyball.

In the rematch with PBA, Ewert took the loss and fell to 10-10 on the season. Lakotish hit an inside the park home run that scored two runs. Dimiceli had two hits with one RBI and Carrie Sensor (Elgin, Ill.) had one RBI.

Judson will host NCAA Division III Carthage College on Monday, April 28th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Elgin Sports Complex for Senior Day.
