West Palm Beach, Fl. - Trying to advance to the NCCAA National Championship, Judson University fell short with a 10-2 loss to Olivet Nazarene University. Judson will now play Palm Beach Atlantic in the losers bracket with the winner advancing to the national championship game.
ONU scored nine runs in the first two innings to take control of the game. After scoring five in the first inning, Judson scored two runs in the top of the second inning to cut the lead to three. ONU responded with four-runs in the bottom of the inning. Both Kristin Krueger and Carrie Sensor each batted in a run in the second inning.
Lizzy Jacobson took the loss and is now 9-9 on the season as she gave up nine earned runs in 1.2 innings. Aimee Ewert finished the game and only gave up one unearned run.
Nicole Dimiceli led Judson with a 2-of-3 appearance at the plate. Both Rachel Pope and Amy Meier crossed the plate when they were hit in.
Judson now plays Palm Beach Atlantic in a rematch of the first game of the series as Judson won, 2-0. The game will be at 11:00 a.m. central time with the winner taking on Olivet Nazarene University at 1:00 p.m. central.
