Scoring two runs in the fourth inning, Judson took game one of the NCCAA National Tournament, 2-0, over Palm Beach Atlantic. Nicole Dimiceli started off the bottom of the fourth inning with a triple and then was singled home by the next batter in Lizzy Jacobson. Two batters later, Rachel Pope carried a single to left field to score Kristi Roeker from second base to make it 2-0.

Judson was led by Dimiceli as she went 2-of-3 with one run scored. Kristin Krueger, Jacobson, and Pope each had a hit as Jacobson and Pope recorded a RBI.

Holding off MVNU in the final innings, Judson University knocked off the #1 team in the national tournament with a 3-2 win. Judson scored two runs in the third inning and then made it 3-0 in the top of sixth inning before MVNU scored two in the bottom of the inning. Judson then held off MVNU in the seventh for the win.

Two straight bunt singles started the third inning as Krueger and Carrie Sensor each reached base. Dimiceli then stepped to the plate and hit her 18th double of the season to bring home both Sensor and Krueger for the 2-0 advantage.

In the top of the sixth inning, Pope gave Judson a 3-0 lead as she singled home Jacobson. Leganksi tried to stretch her running ability on the same play and was then thrown out at the plate for the second out of the inning. The next batter then struck out to end the inning.

MVNU made things interesting as the Cougars put up two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to make it a one-run game. In the bottom of the seventh inning, MVNU could not get their offensive momentum back as Ewert got the first batter to ground, struck out the second batter, and then the final batter flied out to end the game.

Aimee Ewert went the distance and gave up just five hits and two earned runs with five strikeouts. She is now 10-9 on the season.

Once again, Dimiceli went 2-of-4 to lead Judson with two RBI. Pope had the other RBI for Judson. Krueger, Sensor, Debra Leganski, and Tricia Lakotish each had one hit.

Judson will now face #4 Olivet Nazarene at 3 p.m. central on Friday with the winner advancing to the national championship game. It will be the fourth time this season that ONU and Judson have met.
