ELGIN, Ill. -- After a two day postponement, the Eagles were eager to get back into the swing of things as they hosted the Panthers from Purdue University-North Central in Friday's CCAC double-header. Judson went off for 27 hits in the two games that included four home runs and 23 runs. With almost a week off from competition, the Eagles' bats were well rested and resulted in the sweep with 7-1 and 16-6 wins over PNC.

Judson, now 30-16 overall - 18-3 in the CCAC, totaled their 30th win of the season and have now gone 11-1 in conference action in the month of April. The Eagles keep tightening their grip on the conference standings now one game ahead of Olivet Nazarene and five games ahead of St. Ambrose in the north division. Judson showed why they hold the number one spot Friday afternoon with a convincing sweep of PNC heading into the Roosevelt University series on Saturday, April 23rd.

Luke Rojas (SR/St. Charles, IL) led the Eagles going 4-for-8 scoring twice, hitting a double and two home runs. Rojas hit two of the four home runs for the Eagles as Mark DeYoung (SR/Plainfield, IL) and Josh Krueger (FR/Romeoville, IL) each added a shot over the fence in game two. Miguel Villafane (SO/Elgin, IL) led the charge on the mound for Judson and worked with a 3-0 lead in game one after the first inning. Villafane would scatter seven hits allowing just one earned run while striking out nine batters for the complete game win. The Eagles offense would continue to tack runs on the board adding one in the third and three runs off Rojas' three RBI home run in the fourth inning for the 7-0 lead. Krueger finished game one going 2-for-3 and Andrew Siegler (SO/Batavia, IL ) and Tevin Brown (JR/Chicago, IL) both went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Rojas and Krueger combined for five RBI's.

Danny Gerke (SO/Burlington, IL) got the start in game two and looked for his first win of the season coming into the match 0-2. Gerke was able to get the aid of the Judson offense again as the Eagles went ahead 4-1 after the third inning. The Eagles would then tally an eight run, fourth inning including the last two Judson home runs and all but one Eagle scoring. It was all Judson from that point on as the Eagles would end the game early in seven innings by ten runs and Gerke getting his first win of the season. Troy Vandenbroek (JR/Belvidere, IL) and Mark DeYoung both went 3-for-3 combining for five runs scored and four RBI's as Judson would total 18 hits en route to a 16-6 win.

Judson will now enter a three game series against Roosevelt University with the first two games of the series at home on Saturday, April 23rd starting at 1:00pm.
