ELGIN, Ill. - - The National Christian College Athletic Association released the 2016 All-Region Team, player and coach of the year awards earlier Tuesday afternoon. Topping the selection included four Judson Basketball players; Jayla Barrett (SO/Matteson, IL), Kelli Ludwig (JR/Loves Park, IL), Rebekah Tabb (SR/Lebanon, MO), and Justin Allen (JR/South Elgin, IL).


Jayla Barrett also received selection to the CCAC All-Conference team Monday night and continues the season honors with selection to the NCCAA All-Region Team. Barrett led the Lady Eagles in points per game (13.3) and total season points (399). In the region Barrett finished third in point per game average, eighth in free throw percentage, and tied ninth in field goal percentage.


Kelli Ludwig receives the honor of All-Region Team coming off another great season. Ludwig reached 1,000 career points mid-way through the season and was the team's second leading scorer with 10.8 points per game and 328 total points so far. Her 3-pt shooting percentage was second best on the team at 38.2 percent (52-for-136). Ludwig's 3-pt shooting percentage was also good for second in the region and 15th in the nation.  


Rebekah Tabb played a big roll in the post for the Lady Eagles and it earned her All-Region honorable mention. Tabb led the team in total rebounds pulling 190 (72 offensive, 118 defensive) and shot an impressive 43.1 percent from the field (81-for-188). She also led the team in double-double performances totaling five throughout the season. In the region Tabb ranked sixth in rebound average per game.


For the men, Justin Allen received the selection of All-Region Honorable mention in his first year after transfering from Elgin Community College. Allen made a big impact as he was the leading scorer for the Eagles all season with an average of 13.7 points per game and a total of 397 points. Allen had a season high 32 points against Governors State this season and had 21 games scoring double digit points. In the region Allen ranked ninth overall in free throw percentage.
