Joliet, Ill. – Handing the #14 University of St. Francis (32-7/12-1) their first CCAC loss of the year, Judson University (14-20/11-7) took game two of the CCAC series, 6-5, by scoring three runs in the top of the seventh inning and then holding onto the win. USF won game one, 3-0. Judson's win in game two also ended USF's 17-game winning streak.

This is the second time this season that Judson has knocked off a nationally ranked team as they defeated then #24 Dickinson State, 10-4.

Game 1
#14 St. Francis 3, Judson 0

USF's Novak pitched a complete game shut out only allowing four Judson hits and recording 13 strikeouts. JU's Kyle Kobernus took the loss as he went six innings and struck out one.

After four innings of scoreless play, USF scored three runs in back-to-back innings with two in the fifth and one in the sixth for the 3-run lead.

Judson had runners in scoring position in the second inning with runners on first and third base but could not score as they hit into a double play to end the threat. Then, in the top of the seventh inning, Judson had the bases loaded with one out but Novak struck out a batter and then finished the game as he got the final Judson batter to fly out.

Roger Lugo and Rafael Tejada collected both of Judson's hits as they were 2-of-3 on the day.

Game 2
Judson 6, #14 St. Francis 5

Scoring three runs in the top of the seventh inning to come from behind for the win, Judson gave USF their first CCAC loss of the season, 6-5. Scoring all three runs with two outs, Judson started off the inning with a fly out and a ground out. Trent Golz and Jacob Bostwick each singled and then Kevin Fischer was walked to load the bases.

At this point, USF brought in their third pitcher of the game as Panek came in for Koehler. Facing his first batter of the inning, USF's Panek gave up a triple to Oscar DePablos as he cleared the bases to make it 6-4. Panek then ended the inning on Judson's next batter but the damage had been done.

USF tried their own heroics in the bottom of the seventh as they scored one run but could not muster another as JU took the win.

Judson scored three runs in the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead. JU scored in the first inning when Fischer came home as USF picked off DePablos stealing second. Judson then added two more runs in the third inning as Fischer scored the second run of the game on a Brett Ehrlich single. Tejada then singled in Angel Cisneros two batters later for the third run of the game.

It was not until the fifth inning that USF got on the board when they scored four runs to take the lead, 4-3. After a scoreless sixth inning, Judson scored three in the top of the seventh for the win.

DePablos led Judson by going 2-of-3 at the plate with his fourth triple of the season and recording three RBI. Ehrlich and Tejada each had a RBI, too.  Juan P. DeArmas won his 3rd game of the season as he went the distance and had one strikeout.

Judson will now face NCAA Division I Valparaiso University on Wednesday, April 24th, in Indiana.
