South Bend, Ind. (Saturday, Jan. 9th)

Drew Makiewicz (JR/Vandalia, OH) ended a record week with his first double-double performance and game winning shot in Judson's 77-75 win over Indiana University-South Bend.

Makiewicz just came off a top shooting performance against Wilberforce going 9-for-18 from the field and 7-for-13 from 3-point range. All career highs and shy of tying two program records.

Judson was in need of a conference win coming into the second half of CCAC action. The Eagles looked energized and took off to a nine-point lead by the 13:45 mark in the first half. Judson would increase that lead to 15 points just under six minutes before IU-South Bend would slowly fight back to trail 43-37 by half-time.

Will Woodhouse (JR/Elgin, IL) continued Judson's hot shooting streak carrying the Eagles with 17 points on just 18 minutes of action. Woodhouse, a predominant starter last year, has found his starting role again as of late and has boosted the Eagles on both ends of the court. Woodhouse shot 6-for-9 from the field and 5-for-7 from 3-point.

Judson was 42.6 percent from the field and 43.2 percent from behind the arc. IU-South Bend shot a better 44.6 percent and it had them hanging on late in the game. IU-South Bend eventually cut the Eagles' lead and would take the lead at the 10:53 mark in the second half.

Justin Allen (JR/South Elgin, IL) quoted after the loss to Saint Xavier that the Eagles had to find ways to finish games. Despite a diminished 15-point lead, Judson continued to battle and overcome late misses at the free-throw line. Judson set-up their shooting all game and it allowed the Eagles to spread the floor for an easier, 2-point lay-up by Makiewicz that gave Judson the 77-75 lead with three seconds left on the clock.

A complete game finish for the Eagles improves them to 8-10 overall and 2-7 in the CCAC.
