Elgin, Ill. – Signing to play women's basketball and run cross country, Kim Peek has decided to further her athletic career at Judson University. Peek will bring strong talents to both Jim Cook and Rich Weinhandl's teams as an All-State athlete and state champion.

Peek, from Springdale, Arkansas, is a six-time All-State selection for cross country and track and was a 2008 Wendy's High School Heisman State Finalist for Arkansas at Har-Ber High School. She has been twice selected for track and four times for cross country as an all-state athlete. She is a five-time state champion in track in the 1600 meters (twice), indoor 1600 meters, 800 meters, and the 4x800 meter relay.

At Har-Ber, she was the first athlete to ever be a state champion in any sport. The 11-time varsity letter winner was given the Most Athletic Female Award in Harrison, Arkansas.

In cross country, she is a four-year Arkansas All-Star cross country team selection and a Cross Country Ironman selection. She has also been a two-time selection for the Meet of Champions and was the Bill Ward Happy Meal Award recipient.

This past season in basketball, she was an All-Conference selection and a KURM Dream Team selection. She led her team in assists, rebounds, steals, and blocked shots and was also named to the Joplin (MO) All-Tournament Team. She has also helped Har-Ber to the state tournament two straight years.

She has been involved in AAU basketball with the Arkansas Mavericks where she has helped them to A YBOA State Championship and was a top 25 AAO selection. They have also been to the AAU State Tournament where they finished as the state's runner-up and were also the MAYB State Champions and the CI State runner-up.

In school, she is the FCA president, the Key Club vice president, a student council representative, and a member of the National Honor Society. She will be an honor graduate at Har-Ber HS and received the Springdale Chamber Academic Award.

She is the daughter of Charles and Kathy Peek and has one brother, Philip Peek, who runs cross country and track at Southwest Baptist University. Peek will major in secondary education.

Peek is the second female runner to sign for the Judson University women's cross country team. She joins Rachel Dean (Lindenhurst, Ill.) who was the first signee for the new program that is starting in 2008.

The Judson University women's basketball team finished 12-17 on the year and was 6-4 in the CCAC. They have been to the NAIA National Tournament six times in the last 12 years and have won the CCAC Championship four times and the CCAC Tournament three times.
