Elgin, Ill. - The 2008 North Central Regional Softball Tournament will take place on Friday, April 18th, through Saturday, April 19th.  The games will take place at the Elgin Sports Complex.
 
Judson University, Olivet Nazarene, Bethel College, and Greenville College will all participate in the tournament.  The winner of the tournament will receive the bid to the NCCAA National Tournament in Florida on April 23-25.

Bethel College enters the tournament as the #1 team in the nation for NCCAA while Olivet Nazarene is #2. Judson University is 14th while Greenville is 27th.

Bethel comes to Elgin with a 33-4 record and is undefeated in the Mid-Central Conference. They are ranked #16 in the latest NAIA national poll and had a winning streak of 17 games this season. They are currently on a nine-game winning streak.

Olivet Nazarene University posts a record of 36-4 and is 13-0 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC). At one point in the season, they had won 21 straight games and are now on a nine-game winning streak. ONU is #14 in the nation in the latest NAIA poll. ONU has played both Bethel and Judson this season and defeated them both. ONU took a 7-2 decision over Bethel on April 5 and swept Judson in the CCAC series, 14-2 and 5-4.

Judson University brings an 18-15 record to the tournament and is 9-6 in the CCAC. Judson has been ranked as high as #3 in the NAIA Region VII poll and #9 in the NCCAA National Poll.

Greenville College is currently 8-9 on the season and had a five-game winning streak after a 0-2 start. Greenville is a NCAA Division III school.
