Deerfield, Ill. – Dropping a pair of non-conference games to Trinity International (16-14), Judson is now 12-18 on the season. TIU took the first game 6-4 and the 7-3 in game two.

Both Zach Scipione and Kevin Fischer had three hits and one RBI each for Judson in the two games. Kevin Fischer stole one base in two games and now needs just two more steals to tie the Judson single season record and three to break it.

Game 1
TIU 6, Judson 4
Scoring six runs in the final three innings, TIU came from three runs down for the 6-4 lead. Scott Kainovic had a no-hitter going through three and a third innings before he left the game in the fourth inning. Alci Gonzales came in and worked the next 1.2 innings giving up two runs as TIU tied the game at three. In the sixth inning, Roger Lugo gave up three runs as TIU took the lead, 6-3. Trent Golz finished the game and did not give up any runs.
 

Kevin Fischer started off the game by reaching base on an error and then took second and advanced to third when TIU pitcher Richie Frank over threw the first baseman trying to pick him off. Jacob Bostwick then grounded out on the next pitch but brought home Fischer for the first run of the game.

Golz singled in two runs in the second inning to make it 3-0 with a hit to center field as Lugo and Nate Haberkorn each scored.

After TIU scored six combined runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, Judson added a run in the top of the seventh to bring the score to 6-4. Fischer hit his first double of the season that scored Angel Cisneros.

Kainovic went 3.1 innings and did not allow a hit while striking out three batters. Gonzales had three strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work while Lugo did not record an out and took the loss.

Seven Eagles had a hit a piece as Golz led the team with two RBI and Fischer and Bostwick each had one.

Game 2
TIU 7, Judson 3
Scoring two runs in the bottom of the second inning, TIU had the lead the entire game. Judson cut the lead to one, 2-1, in the top of the third inning when Fischer came home on a Scipione single.

TIU added four runs in the third inning to make it 6-1 and then added their seventh run in the fourth inning. Judson put two on the board in the fifth inning to make it 7-3.

Both runs came in the fifth inning on wild pitches from TIU's Andrew Wicklund as Fischer and Golz scored.

Nate Haberkorn pitched six innings and gave up three earned runs while striking out three. He falls to 0-1 on the season.

Scipione went 2-of-3 with one RBI while Fischer was 2-of-4 with two runs scored.

Judson will now host Calumet College in CCAC play on Friday, April 18th, at 4:00 p.m. at Hoffer Field.
