Elgin, Ill. – A hitting display took place at the Elgin Sports Complex as Judson University (18-15/9-6) had 18 hits and belted four home runs in a sweep of Purdue University-North Central (18-14/6-6), 9-1 and 5-3. The wins put Judson back in the top four in the CCAC is their fourth CCAC series sweep of the season.

For the second time this season, Debra Leganski had a multi-home run game with two in the first game. She now has 11 on the season which is the most in the CCAC. Carrie Sensor led Judson with a 4-of-7 performance and one RBI.

Game 1
Judson 9, PNC 1
After two scoreless innings, Judson scored in the next four innings to make it 9-1. Judson crossed the plate three times in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead. Sensor singled in Brittany Nicley for the first run followed by a Nicole Dimiceli sacrifice fly that brought home Kristin Krueger. Sensor then made it 3-0 when she touched the plate on a passed ball.
 

PNC brought JU's lead to one in the top of the fourth inning with a home run only to see Judson make it a three-run lead again in the bottom of the inning when Leganski started off the inning with her first of two home runs.

Leganksi gave Judson a 6-1 lead in the fifth inning with her second home run that scored Lizzy Jacobson. Four batters later, Nicley picked up a RBI with a single that scored Aimee Ewert.

Sensor started the sixth inning with a single and made it home on the next batter as Dimiceli belted a double for an 8-1 advantage. After Jacobson grounded out, Leganski had another RBI as she doubled home Dimiceli to end the game at 9-1.

Jacobson won her eighth game of the season as she pitched sixth innings and had four strikeouts with just one earned run.

Leganski led the team by going 3-of-4 with four RBI. All three hits were for extra bases in two home runs and a double. Sensor, Amy Meier, and Nicley all had two hits. Dimiceli record two RBI as Sensor and Nicley each had one.

Game 2
Judson 5, PNC 3
Scoring five runs combined in the fifth and then holding off PNC in the seventh, Judson swept their fourth CCAC series of the season. After four scoreless innings, Dimiceli broke up the scoring with a two-run home run. Jacobson followed that with her seventh home run of the season to make it 3-0.
 

PNC came within one in the top of the sixth inning with one run scored but Judson answered with two more runs in the bottom of the inning. Nicley doubled home Brenda Perry and Meier to make it 5-1. PNC started off the top of the seventh with a home run to bring the score to 5-2 and then scored their third run on a fielder's choice. With only one out and runners on first and third base, JU's Ewert got PNC's next batter to pop out to Krueger at second base and then the game ended on a strikeout.

Ewert claimed the win going seven innings and striking out three with three earned runs. Sensor and Dimiceli each had two hits as Dimiceli hit her sixth home run of the year. Nicley and Dimiceli each recorded two RBI as Jacobson had one RBI.

Judson will travel to Joliet, Illinois, on Thursday, April 17th, for a CCAC series with St. Francis as the game starts at 5:00 p.m.
