Elgin, Ill. – Two different stories took place at Hoffer Field as Judson University (11-15/8-4) split their CCAC games with Robert Morris (5-17/2-10) taking game one 14-2 but falling in game two, 2-1. Judson was the visiting team at Hoffer Field as the game was moved to Elgin due to playing conditions on RMC's field. Judson has now won 10 of their last 12 games.

Judson hammered out 16 hits and 14 runs in game one but only had six hits in game two. In game two, a game changing ejection turned the game as Alci Gonzales was thrown out of the game. As he was beginning to pitch to a batter in the fifth inning, the batter called time out just as Gonzales was getting ready to release the pitch and the ball was thrown as the batter was stepping out of the box and was almost hit by the pitch. The umpire immediately ejected Gonzales without a warning saying that he was 'throwing at the batter.' Carlos Soto, who had pitched two innings in game one, had to come and finish the game out.

Game 1
Judson 14, RMC 2
Judson scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to run-rule RMC and finish the game. Of the 16 hits that Judson had, five were doubles led by three from Rafael Tejada. His three doubles tied the single-game record for Judson's record of doubles in a game.

Judson started off strong in the first inning by scoring four runs right off the bat. Zach Scipione singled home Oscar DePablos to score the first run. Two batters later, Tejada hit his first of three doubles to bring home DePablos and Brett Ehrlich for a 3-0 advantage. Scott Kainovic's ground out brought Tejada home after Tejada reached third on a RMC balk.

RMC cut JU's lead to three in the bottom of the inning but then Judson added three more runs in the top of the third to make it 7-1. Tejada scored two more RBI with his second double as Juan P. DeArmas and Scipione scored. Tejada then scored on a RMC throwing error on his double for the third run of the inning. RMC added their only other run in the bottom of the inning.

The bats kept swinging in the fourth inning as three more runs were put on the board. Kevin Fischer was the first runner to cross the plate on an Ehrlich single. Tejada singled as the next batter and advanced to second on a throwing error as DeArmas scored the second run on the error. Tejada then scored as Scott Kainovic singled to center field.

Four more runs were scored in the sixth inning to give Judson the 14-2 advantage. Scipione's double to right field brought in DePablos for the first run. Two batters later, Tejada smashed his third double of the game picking up another two RBI that had both DeArmas and Scipione cross the plate. An Angel Cisneros sacrifice fly scored Tejada as the 14th run of the game to finish off the scoring.

Tejada led Judson in batting with a 4-of-4 performance and six RBI. Three of the four hits were doubles and he scored all four times. Ehrlich also went 4-of-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Scipione and Kainovic each had two RBI.

Kyle Kobernus pitched four innings and allowed just five hits and three strikeouts for his third win of the year. Soto finished the final two innings and only gave up one hit with one strikeout.

Game 2
RMC 2, Judson 1
After all the mass drama in the fifth inning with the ejection, Judson still had a chance to win the game in the seventh inning. With the bases loaded and one out, RMC brought in Garrett Prenovost in relief as he struck out the final two batters to end the game and pick up the save.

Judson scored their only run of the game in the fourth inning when Ehrlich singled up the middle to score DePablos.

In the fifth inning, Judson entered with a 1-0 lead. Gonzales got the first batter to ground out the next three batters all had hits that scored one run. After the third hit is when Gonzales was ejected for the so called ‘throwing at the batter' when time was called during the middle of his pitch without a warning from the umpire.

With one out, Soto came in after pitching two innings in the previous game. He got the next batter to pop out but then walked the next two batters for the go ahead score before striking out the final batter of the inning.

Judson threatened in the seventh but did not get the hit.

Gonzales receives the loss as he fell to 2-4 on the season. We pitched 4.1 innings and had three strikeouts. Soto pitched the final 1.2 innings and recorded three strikeouts. Six different players had one hit with Ehrlich the only one recording a RBI.
