Leonardo Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) led the way for the Eagles as he netted two goals in the first half.
In the first half the Eagles took an early lead in the 2nd minute of the match as junior Silva put the ball into the net after it rebounded off a CU defender. Judson held the 1-0 lead for most of the half and then increased it to 2-0 in the 41st minute as Petar Bajic (Stari Slakhamen, Serbia) slotted a quick pass to Silva who capitalized on another one on one against the CU keeper. At the end of the first half the Eagles held a stable 2-0 lead.
The second half began with more of the same steady play from the Eagles. In the 54th minute Judson scored again as Silva played a ball out from the middle to the right flank as junior Milos Bajic (Stari Slakhamen, Serbia) made a run to the goal and finished the play to make the score 3-0.
Freshman keeper Neil Thompson (Manchester, England) recorded four saves for the Eagles in 90 minutes of play and his first shutout of the year and his career at Judson.
The Judson men’s soccer team plays again on September 7th away at Rio Grande against Fresno Pacific at 7:00 p.m.
