RMC picked up one run in the second inning and then made it 3-0 in the fourth inning. RMC was the home team in the contest since the game was moved to Elgin.
Three players had two hits as Lizzy Jacbson was 2-of-3 and both Kristin Krueger and Carrie Sensor were 2-of-4. Jacobson took the loss and fell to 4-4 on the year as she gave up three earned runs with two strikeouts.
RMC put two more runs up in the fourth inning to make it 4-1. Judson did not back away as they scored one run in the fifth and one in the sixth to cut the lead to one, 4-3. Nicole Dimiceli grounded out for the first out but brought home Krueger to make it 4-2. With just one out and a runner on third, Judson could not bring home another run as RMC's Lite struck out the next two batters to end the threat.
In the sixth inning, JU had two outs when Krueger hit a hard single to RMC's shortstop to score Brittany Nicley to make it 4-3. That is as close as JU would get as RMC scored two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth for a three-run advantage, 6-3.
Judson put runners in scoring position in the top of the seventh but could not come through. With two runners on and two outs, RMC's Lite struck out Judson's final batter to end the inning.
Krueger led the team with a 2-of-4 performance and one RBI. Dimiceli had the other RBI for Judson in the loss. Aimee Ewert fell to 5-6 on the year as she only gave up three earned runs with nine strikeouts which ties her career-high.
Judson will host Elmhurst College on Friday, April 4th, at 5:00 p.m. at the Elgin Sports Complex.
