South Barrington, IL - Judson University Eagles Men's Lacrosse Team (1-1) defeated the Missouri State Bears (3-4) by a score of 18-13 at the Conservancy Fields of South Barrington on Thursday March 20th.

The game started off with quick scoring on great transitional ball movement by the Judson midfielders. The Eagles found themselves with a 3-0 lead less than halfway into the first quarter. MSU"s Face Off Specialist Zack Sutter found an answer as he dominated the face-off x and helped Missouri State hold possession for a majority of the remaining time left in the quarter.

As the JU Eagles entered the second quarter hanging onto a one goal lead, Judson continued to struggle on the face-off so Eagle Captain Jake Ettelbrick made a suggestion that he tie up Sutter and allow for the Eagle wing midfielders to swoop in and gather up the ground balls created by the draw. This suggestion helped to swing the momentum back into the Eagles favor and was the bond that held the Eagles together for the rest of the game.

During the third quarter the Eagles extended their lead to 5 goals, a lead that they would maintain throughout the rest of the game resulting in a final score of 18-13.

Standouts during the Eagle victory were Senior Attackman Taylor Stark with 5 goals and 3 assists, Junior Midfielder Jake Ettelbrick with 7 goals and 7 groundballs and Senior Attackman Josh Elmore with 3 goals and 5 assists. "It was a total team effort where several players were able to make major statistical contributions," stated JU Head Coach A.J. Collier II, "the guys executed our gameplan and with a few adjustments the outcome was exactly what we were looking for!"

The Judson Eagles Men's Lacrosse team returns home on Saturday, March 22nd as the play host to the Washington University Bears at the Conservancy Fields of South Barrington (South Barrington Conservancy, 8 Bridges Drive, South Barrington, IL). The game will start at noon and we encourage all Judson Students to attend and help support your Eagles as they attempt to win their second game of the season.
