ELGIN – The Judson men's and women's cross country teams for their fourth meet of the season this weekend at the Bethel Invitation at St. Patrick's County Park in South Bend, Ind.


The women's cross country team posted its best showing of the season in the Warrior Invitational on Oct. 5. Led by Meaghan Gard-Ciochon in the 6K event,  the senior posted the second best time in the event with a time of 23:26 coming in as the top NAIA runner for the second time this season.


Junior Sarah Miller finished sixth in the event – her best finish of the season – with a time of 23:54. Not far behind her was classmate Jordan Wagner coming in with a 24:38 time.


As a collective unit, the (RV) Lady Eagles finished third in a field of 29 coming in as the top NAIA school. Judson finished ahead of CCAC opponents, Trinity Christian (5th), Cardinal Stritch (24th) and Trinity International (23rd) along with multiple NCAA Division III competing schools including #22 Aurora who topped out at 8th for the event.


The NAIA recognized the doings of the team as the women's team received votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll. Click here.


Sophomore Mitch Mallary was the top finisher on the men's side in the Warrior Invitation coming in 80th with a time of 30:01. The men finished 19th out of 25th competing schools.


The two squads will look to improve and gain national recognition as they head to South Bend for a 5:00 pm. Race tonight at the Bethel Invitational.
