Mount Vernon Nazarene scored five runs in the first three innings and then the final run in the sixth inning for a 6-0 win. Juan DeArmos led Judson in hitting going 2-of-3. Brett Ehrlich had the other hit for Judson.
Alci Gonzales took the lose for Judson in five innings of work with six strikeouts. DeArmos finished the final two innings and had one strikeout.
Judson jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning but then let MVNU score three runs in the bottom of the fifth and six innings. JU had a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth but gave up two runs to fall behind 3-2. They then did not score any runs in the top of the seventh in the loss.
Five players had one hit in Jack Bostwick, Zach Scipione, Rafeal Tejada, Roger Lugo, and DeArmos. Tejada had one RBI. Scott Kainovic pitched five inning and gave up four runs but had three strikeouts and only walked one batter. DeArmos and Ehrlich finished the game out for Judson as DeArmos took the loss.
Judson will face Grand View College on Friday in a single nine inning game.
