Judson closed out the regular season on the hardwood by suffering a defeat on the road at Trinity Christian 69-48. The Eagles had a balanced scoring attack led by nine points from Luke Labedzki. The frontcourt combination of Anthony Ahlers and Alex Graupmann added eight points apiece.
The Eagles had a strong first half effort led out of the gates by a Jason Roy 3-pointer. They would never trail in the opening half and built as much as an eight point lead on a couple different occasions. Judson led 31-30 at the half. In the second half, the Trolls were able to come back and grab the lead at the 13:25 mark and they would never look back. Judson closed the lead to six points with 9:56 remaining, but Trinity then went on a 21-2 run over the next eight minutes that sealed the victory.
Trinity Christian won the rebounding battle 43-29, while Judson only committed seven turnovers compared to 11 for Trinity Christian. The Trolls outshot the Eagles from the floor 48% to 30% and knocked down 10 threes compared to Judson's six.
Judson closes out the regular season with a 5-19 CCAC record and 6-23 record overall. Trinity Christian finishes with a 10-14 conference record and 10-20 overall record. Judson will now compete for the CCAC tournament championship. The single-elimination tournament will begin on Monday night when the #11 seed Eagles will travel to the #6 seed Purdue Calumet Peregrines. These two teams split the regular season series with both teams winning on the road. Game time is set for 7pm on Monday night in Hammond, IN.
