20-win seasons
With a win over #4 Walsh University, Judson would become the third team to win 20 games in the history of the program. Judson won 24 games (most wins in history of program) in the 1983-84 season under Sam Harris. That is als the last time that Judson went to a national tournament (NCCAA). Jim Cook guided his 2005-06 team to a 20-12 season as the second team to win 20 games.   Overall, Judson has had 11 teams win 15 or more games in the 43 year history.

This year’s team, with 19 wins, is only the third team to win 19 games. This feat was also accomplished in the 1968-69 season (19-7) and in the 2001-02 (19-16) under Jim Condill.

dropping 30
CCAC Player of the Year Dewayne Robinson just has that touch for scoring. Three times this season, he has dropped 30 or more points in a game. In the second game of the season, he had 30 against Ashford University. He the scored a career-high 34 points on February 2nd vs. Purdue-North Central. He picked up his 3rd 30-point game vs. Cardinal Stritch in the CCAC Tournament Championship game with 30 points. He has scored 20 or more points in 18 of the 26 games he has played, too.

dishing it out

Justen Boyd has had a stellar career for Judson at the point guard position. He will leave Judson with his name in several categories of the record book. This season, he lead the CCAC in assists with 130 assists and an average of 4.8 per game. He is currently 21st in the nation for assists in the NAIA.

For his career, he has 497 career assists which is second all-time for Judson behind Elliott Anderson’s 808 assists.

‘trey’licous
In the first round of the NAIA Tournament, the game between Judson and Walsh could feature a three-point contest. crashing the boards
Joe Gonnam and Chris Oates both played a major role in the win over Calumet College in the CCAC Tournament. JU out rebounded CC, 47-40, and Gonnam and Oates combined for 30 of Judson’s 47 rebounds. Both players set a career-high with 15 rebounds a piece.

It was the 5th time this season that Gonnam had 10 or rebounds in a game and he has four double-doubles on the season. Oates has had two double-doubles this season with 15 rebounds vs. CC.

swat team

In the win over Calumet College in the CCAC Tournament, Oates had a career-high five blocks. Oates has 30 on the year and is 3rd all-time on the Judson list with 81 career blocks. Bojanic has 22 this season and 39 overall in his career. Bojanic had a career-high three blocks vs. Purdue-Calumet on January 16th.

live and die by FTs
This season has been a battle at the free throw line for Judson. They have made 70% or more of their free throws in 10 games this season but also shot under 60% in seven games. Judson hit a season-high 87% (20-of-23) vs. Indiana-South Bend but lost. JU then hit a season low 47% (9-of-19) in their first game of the season and lost to Aquinas College.

worst to first
By winning the regular season championship, Judson completed a worst-to-first turnaround in one season. Last year, JU finished 6-23 overall and were 1-9 in the CCAC. JU opened the 2007-08 CCAC season with a 7-0 record and completed the first-round of play undefeated. Last year, JU only defeated Calumet College for their lone CCAC win.

what a lineup
This season, Judson has four players that have all recorded 1,000 career points. Three of the players have been at Judson for four years in Justen Boyd, Joe Gonnam, and Chris Oates. Dewayne Robinson has played just a year and a half and has picked up 1,000 points. Boyd and Robinson sit at 12th and 13th overall on the all-time scoring list while Gonnam and Oates are 24th and 25th.

home sweet home

setting records
Earlier this season, Judson set a new school record for consecutive wins. They won seven games in a row starting on January 9th vs. Purdue-North Central and winning all the way through February 2nd. The streak entailed the entire first half ot the CCAC schedule and one game into the second half of the schedule. Cardinal Stritch ended JU’s seven-game win streak on February 7th, in Milwaukee, 100-97, in double overtime. JU then lost their next game vs. Purdue-Calumet before rebounding with five straight wins.

ccac player of the year
Junior Dewayne Robinson has shown just how valuable he is to the team and the CCAC. This past week, he was honored as the CCAC Player of the Year for his performance. He has led the CCAC in scoring all season and been named the CCAC Player of the Week three times. He is third in steals, fourth in field goal percentage and assists, fifth in rebounding, and 10th in free throw percentage. He has hit many clutch shots all season. One of the biggest came vs. Calumet in the second half with less than four minutes to play.
