Judson 3, IIT 1- Box

Elgin, Ill.- The Lady Eagles had the never say die attitude on Tuesday night. After losing the first match 23-25, Judson stormed back and battle to beat Illinois Institute of Technology in 4 games(23-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-19).  After playing well in the weekend tournament but falling the final 2 games on Saturday, the Lady Eagles looked to right the ways. Fighting for a postseason berth, Judson helped themselves beating the conference foe.

Breanna Todd led the Lady Eagles with big kills all night, keeping the momentum towards Judson.  On the night Todd recorded 12 kills.  Kirsten Kohlstedt had a game of her own, her 41 assists and 10 digs were good enough for her 8th double-double of the season.  .  Judson's kills leader Carissa Oelke was on her game with 18 kills putting her further in the lead in the respective categories.

Defense is what won Judson the game.  The Lady Eagles recorded 53 digs, 2 solo blocks and 20 assisted blocks. Taylor Lesner continues to be superb on defense with 15 digs. Emily Korf almost matched her career high in digs coming up with 12 Scarlet Hawk Attacks.  Claire Gianacakos set a career high in blocks with 5 assisted blocks. Also performing well on the block was Isadora Borerro and Annie Holderman with 5 and 4 blocks respectively.

Judson is now 18-15 overall and 7-6 in conference.

The Lady Eagles will play next on October 26th at the Illinois Tech Crossover Tournament  against Calumet College at 3:00 p.m.
