Judson 3, TCC 1- Box
Elgin, Ill.- On what started as a rainy day, the men's soccer team what able to send the seniors out with a 3-1 victory in the sunshine. The Eagles recognized 7 seniors for their accomplishments for their playing careers. The Eagles came in to the match up with a record of 7-6-3 and looked to send the senior out on a good note, and that's just what they did.
After all the senior day festivities, Judson went down early when a Judson player had a handball in the goalie box resulting in a penalty kick. The penalty kick would later result in a goal. Judson would let that affect them, because in the 27th minute of play senior William Zardetto got it just passed the defense to Santiago Munoz who out ran the defense netting Judson's first goal. Putting Judson ahead, Senior Danny Hinterlong got a pass to Noah Price just inside the 18 yard box, who then shot from about 10 yards out scoring the second goal of the game. Adding insurance Santiago Munoz scored on a 1v1 with the goalie and Munoz prevailed. Munoz received the ball on a deep pass from senior #25 Micah Price.
In goal for Judson was senior Neil Thompson, who led the Eagles to the victory with his 5 saves in the match up. The only goal that Thompson allowed was on the penalty kick.
Judson is now 8-6-3 and 5-3-2 in conference.
The Eagles will play next on October 27th at Holy Cross College at 4:00 p.m.
