Elgin, Ill.- Adding more talent for the 2008-09 season, Tony Tompkins has added both Ben Rayhorn and Josh Weber to the roster from Sauk Valley Community College. Rayhorn and Weber will join Trent Tucker, Junquil Barrett, and Mike Wood for the 2008-09 season.

Hailing from Dakota, Illinois, Rayhorn has averaged 12.0 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game this season for SVCC. He scored a career-high 27 points this season, named the MVP of the 2007 College of DuPage Tournament, and has helped SVCC to a 20-8 overall record.

At Dakota High School, Rayhorn became a member of the 1,000 point club while averaging 17.0 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high of 34 points and helped DHS to a 27-1 record in the 2005-06 season. He was a two-time All-State selection as a second team member as a senior and honorable mention as a junior. He is the son of Alley Rayhorn and Barbara Hickey and he has two sisters.

Weber, from Sterling, Illinois, has been a big part in helping SVCC to a 20-win season this year. He is the team’s captain and has been voted the Junior College “Player of the Week” once. Averaging 12.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game, he was named to the College of DuPage All-Tournament team. Last year, he was voted as the “team’s most improved player” and had the best field goal percentage on the team.

While playing at Sterling Christian High School, Weber averaged 18.6 points per game and 12.4 rebounds per game. He was the captain of the team and named the co-MVP of the team. Winning numerous all-Tournament MVP awards, he was also a two-time All-Conference First-Team selection. He is the son of Dave and Jill Weber and has three sisters and one brother.

Judson just won their first-ever CCAC regular season championship this past week and are currently 17-8 overall. They are the #1 seed in the CCAC Tournament and will host a game on Thursday, February 28th, at 7:30 p.m. Earlier this season, JU set a school record for most consecutive wins with seven.
