BOTOTEURT, Va. – Allison Catlett had the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as Judson University won their opening game in the NCCAA World Series, 2-1, vs. Trevecca Nazarene University.  Judson now will play top seeded California Baptist on Friday, May 11th, at 12:00 p.m. for the right to move onto the NCCAA National Championship game.

 

Sarah Boyer earns the win, her 19thof the year, with four strikeouts.  Emily England had the other RBI on the day as she singled in Concetta Lampugnano to tie the game. England and Lampugnano both had two hits to lead the team.

 

Judson's first run came in the first inning on England's single to centerfield. Judson kept their lead until the fourth when Trevecca Nazarene tied the game at one.  After four scoreless innings, Judson had the game winning hit in the bottom of the ninth inning to advance in the winner's bracket.

 

Judson is now 28-24 overall and is one of four remaining unbeaten teams in the NCCAA World Series.
