WHITING, Ind. – Chances of winning the CCAC Tournament Championship slipped away late in the game for Judson University as the University of St. Francis snatched the title away, 9-8. Judson had an early 5-0 lead before St. Francis came back and took a three-run lead, 8-5. Judson then tied the game at eight before St. Francis had the game winning run in the sixth inning. Judson is now 46-12 and will wait to see where they will be playing in the NAIA Opening Round next week.
Cameron Balough and Craig Lipp both went 3-of-5 vs. St. Francis as Balough led the team with three RBI. Johnny Amann had only one hit but it was for three RBI to tie the team lead. Josh Raymond and Matt McHenry both had a RBI as McHenry hit his ninth home run of the year. Amann and Balough also had home runs in the loss. Cody Love received the loss going 1.2 innings with two strikeouts. Palmer started the game and went five innings with three strikeouts before being replaced. Ryan Pollock went 0.2 innings and was followed by Carmody to finish out the game with one strikeout.
Judson will now wait to see who they will play as the NAIA pairings come out on Sunday night at 6:0 p.m. Judson will be having a viewing party with the team as they will watch to see where they are seeded.
